Chelsea Cirruzzo is a Washington correspondent at STAT, where she covers HHS. Prior to joining STAT, she co-authored Politico’s daily health policy newsletter and, before that, launched Axios' local D.C. newsletter, where she covered health care issues in the district. As a 2021 journalism fellow for the Gerontological Society of America, she spent a year reporting on the challenges of caring for an aging homeless population in D.C. and nationwide. She’s also reported on health care for U.S. News & World Report and Inside Health Policy, where she wrote about Medicare, Medicaid, and public health.
